Trip 2, Day 11, Layover
Trip Day - Sunday, October 3
0700-Slept in due to Chubby disturbances all night long! After several unsuccessful throws of my hiking boots in an attempt to reduce him to mush, I setup a water trap using my 6 gallon shower pail with six inches of water in the bottom, and a wooden spoon with a glob of PB on the end. It worked, but was too tender. Chubby sensed it was tipping and leaped to safety escaping by the skin of his teeth! He must be really starving, since he is into everything all of a sudden, even though no food is exposed!
I heard him licking my hanging measuring cups and otherwise clunking around in the galley knocking things over off and on all night. He is a terror and driving my crazy! I need a good trap!
68F/59F. Solar 20%, a new low! I'm very tired getting almost no sleep. Up all night defending against the Chubby siege!
Misty rain coming down outside. Cooler this morning compared to the last couple of days and the heat is on, as you can see by the temps.
0904-Morning routine complete. Time to make breakfast. Starting to see breaks in the clouds. I need lots of sun to recharge the solar for the trip home!

0931-Breakfast was PB granola, strawberries, and PB toast. Will go dry off the solar panels to maximize watts. Solar now 18% (31w)
1016-Washed the dishes. More blue sky now. 69F/67F. Should be a warmer day. I may make a kayak trip over to the far east end of the bay later on.

1134-Read ashore between a few chores. Sky continuing to clear. Light breeze. 73F/66F.

1252-Made a chicken salad sandwich, accompanied by chips for lunch. 70F/69F. I plan to read for a while then take a nap to try to catch up. Changed my mind, and started to gear up for the kayak trip instead.
1522-Just got back from my kayak trip. Poor planning on departure! Had to board twice because I forgot my phone needed to control the Osmo Action camera and gimbal remotely. Both are mounted just forward of the kayak cockpit. With all the confusion, I also forgot to turn on tracking!
Ended up getting a work out instead of the planned nap! I really needed a nap since I was up all night trying to murder Chubby! Left the door open again today hoping he would try to escape before I draw and quarter him as an example to field mice everywhere who might have the gall to board this boat on pain of death! I threw two hiking boots at him last night followed by a near drowning in my bucket trap, but no cigar! His days are numbered!

1551-I put away the forward Bimini so I'm ready for the road tomorrow. I will leave the solar panels out until sundown then take them down too. The fire ring will be secured after the evening fire. I'm not really hungry yet but need to get dinner ready anyway. Tonight is the "last supper" of grilled chicken, potatoes, salad, roll, and white wine.
1718-67F/63F. Solar up to 29% from the low of 18%, not great but perhaps enough to get home okay. Finished dinner and cleaned up the galley. I will head up shortly to the cliff overlooking the boat, to set up for a sunset time lapse. After that's done I will head over to sit around the fire ring while the camera does it's thing.

1931-The time lapse has been running while I sat by the fire and had my evening libation. But it started to get so dark it was going to be difficult to see the trail. But fortunately, I made it up to retrieve the camera and tripod and got back without breaking my neck! It was almost dark by then.
