Trip 1, Day 5, Leg 5
Trip Day: Saturday, July 31st
0540-67F/61F. Had boat closed up since a heavy T-storm moved in at mid-night. Kept cabin warmer. 42% on solar battery.
0849-Finished breakfast. Shredded wheat, blueberries, toast with peanut butter. Made coffee cake to have with coffee during my study time, and that worked out well. Saved one muffin for tomorrow. Getting ready to move.
Anchor held well in strong T-storm gust last night. Good mud bottom. Had to drag the anchor over the bow while underway for a while to get the mud off. Unfortunately, some stuck on anyway! Generally cooler today.
Nav Tablet got stuck in the "safe mode" this morning and I could not get it out! The nav app would not work! Did a shut down and restart several times, to no avail. Finally I took it out of the helm holder and tried again and it worked! Turns out one of the buttons must have been pressed by the holder so that each time I hit the start button it went directly into the "safe mode." Always something to keep you on your toes!
Arrived at Gable Point boat site. 2.4 nm, 6.2 kts average. There were some tie rings in the rocks at this site (see pic).

1039-72F/73F Washed dishes. Verified the solar fan worked overnight.
1200-Read my book ashore, now time to have a snack. Crackers, cheese, apples, nuts, and white wine while I listened to Pandora and looked out on the beautiful sunny, yet cooler day! 75F/78F. A nice breeze makes it feel cool! I'm used to the high 80's and 90's, so this is very pleasant in comparison.

| Great Views From The Hill |
1406-After lunch I moved up the hill to sit and read. Then took some more pics and videos until another T-storm threatened. Went inside and vacuumed the floor to do something constructive.
1500- Began dinner prep. Pork roast, potatoes, hot roll, salad, water, and red wine.
1615-Finished dinner clean up. Solar shows 58%. Didn't do well because it was cloudy this afternoon. When the sun did show, the trees began to block the solar panels. I need to be cognizant of what sites I choose based on the shading problem. 76F/77F.

Will go up on the hill for a while. Finish my wine and listen to music. May take a swim later.
| Best Seat In The House! |
1915-74F/74F. Watched all the houseboats trying to find spots. Maybe 6 or 7? Two tried to come in here. One even sent out a scout boat to see if I was a legitimate houseboat! Two times in three days!
Set up the fire ring. It is cool enough to try it tonight, if the mosquitos don't chase me in?
2050-72F/72F. Sat by the fire and listened to music and watched a bald eagle and a pair of loons doing their thing. Turned off the music and listened to the quiet of the evening and lapping of the waves. Time for an audio book and bed time!
