Trip 1, Day 12 (Layover)

Trip Day - Saturday, August 7th

0600-69F/64F.  50% solar...may make it!  Cloudy and calm. Making coffee cake (large muffins) in my stove top oven, to enjoy with coffee.  Good day for baking.  For now I plan to layover one day.

0830-Enjoyed the hot fresh coffee cake, with lots of butter. Studied my Bible, read from the tome on the Christian background of our Constitution, with prayer after.

0913-70F/66F.  47% solar (15 watts).  I will make a breakfast of blueberry pancakes, bacon, with OJ.

1008-72F/68F.  Finished breakfast and now have a bunch of dishes to wash!  I think I will wait a while. Still cloudy!

1101-70F/68F.  Dishes are done. I will read for a while.  Slept 10 hours last night!  Made up for the loss the night before.  Fishing boats go back and forth in front of this cove, not possible to escape them it seems!  Late fall is the time to come up here, or perhaps very early, like May, or early June.

1236-69F/68F. Solar 48% (28 watts).  Need some sun for the battery.  Did more reading.  I'm so full from a big breakfast I may just have a glass of white wine with some nuts and wait for dinner.  Still overcast and cool with a light breeze.

1700-Read even more, napped, got up and explored the rocks and woods, then made dinner of chili, hot roll, salad, and cold beer. 77F/73F.  Solar 54% (59w).

Five fishing boats screamed by in sequence, which seems to be the modus operandi.  Rent a portable cabin (houseboat), park it, drag along your fishing boats, and go fishing all day.

Sky is clearing, so I do have some sun late in the day, which helps the solar battery.  I will have a glass of red wine and relax on the aft deck and read even more!  Lots of reading today.

2025-Getting ready for bed.  72F/69F. Solar 56%.  Mostly cloudy day, but the solar battery is just short by 3% of yesterday.  That's good!  Running the fridge only will make it possible to finish the trip okay. No videos today.
